Urban Retreat: Silent Meditation Practice Day

  • The Interdependence Project 28 West 27th Street Room 704 New York, NY 10001 (map)

With Emily Herzlin and Paco Genkoji Lugoviña

In this daylong retreat, you have an opportunity to experience a day of guided meditation (breath meditation, walking meditation, mindful movement, mindful eating) in a full day of silence. Immersion in a period of silent meditation will deepen your experience and help you to develop a continuity of awareness and compassion that can be brought to any moment in your life.

To create a compassionate and calm space for all participants, we ask you to refrain from using devices during this retreat. Please make any arrangements necessary in advance to support your practice.

Beginners are welcome, but some previous experience with meditation is strongly recommended. (For example: have attended 3 or more Introduction to Meditation Sessions at IDP or the equivalent elsewhere; self-taught meditation practice at home for 1 month, etc. If you have questions about this, feel free to contact info@theidproject.org.)

Please note that our new space has neither a kitchen, fridge, nor microwave, so please plan on eating out or bringing a non-refrigerated lunch with you. Wear comfortable clothes, and bring a water bottle. You can choose to sit on a cushion or chair as you prefer.

Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in.
