An 8-Week Course in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)

Join the Mindful Astoria community on Thursday evenings this summer for an 8-week course in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), the curriculum developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn at the University of Massachusetts Medical School Center for Mindfulness.

Mindfulness is simply being aware of what is arising within you or around you from moment to moment so that you can respond skillfully and with awareness. Over the course of eight weeks, we will learn several different forms of mindfulness practices such as mindful breathing, walking meditation, and mindful movement. We will practice bringing mindfulness into daily activities, stressful situations, self-care, work, relationships, communication, and more. This course teaches several forms of mindfulness and meditation practices, emphasizing ways of integrating mindfulness into daily life in order to reduce stress. Led by experienced MBSR teacher Emily Herzlin.
