The heat is on in NYC. Why try to fight it? Let's spend a day writing about summer and turn that soupy New York City air into gleaming sentences.
We'll read and discuss a piece or two about summer for inspiration, brainstorm our own poem and story ideas, and then start to get them on the page. (You don't have to write about the temperature*--anything related to summer will do: memories, landscapes, travel, summer traditions, etc.)
Writers of all genres and experience levels welcome. $5-$10 suggested donation.
Bring paper and something to write with.
*(Did we mention that the Astoria Bookshop has A/C?)
