Open to writers of all experience levels, the Writing Workshop at Astoria Bookshop is a place to create brand new material and share writing with the community.

In this class we will briefly discuss the genre or topic, look at a short piece of writing for inspiration, and dive right in to a series of writing prompts. At the end of the class, those who would like to can share their work aloud for feedback.

February topic: Writing About the Body

In this class we will begin to look at how writers approach the topic of writing about the body. We will explore topics such as body image, physical pain, and the sense perceptions, specifically the felt sensation of touch. Please bring a notebook and something to write with. All genres and experiences levels welcome.
